  1. I am a Lieutenant with the Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Soldotna, AK. On 10/21/14, I was dispatched to a vehicle rollover with injuries. Upon arrive, I discovered a Marine Recruiter (sorry, I did not get his name) on scene. He was on his way from Anchorage to Kenai for a recruiting event. Upon my arrival, he had already secured two young passengers in his vehicle (one of which was severely handicapped) and was assisting with the injured individual. He was constantly calling his supervisor with updates due the fact the he would be late. Just wanted to ensure that you all know he did the Marine Corp proud this morning and that I appreciated his help.

“Portland, Oregon.” I am producing a short movie in my series My Digital Minute about an interrogation which took place in the 1980s regarding an Article 106a (Espionage with regard to nuclear weapons). I am looking for a Marine to be in the movie. It is a paid part. No speaking lines. Marine is at parade rest in front of the interrogation room. He gets to look at a pretty young woman and only has to shift his eyes from front to her back to eyes front. There is nothing derogatory about the military – I am Vietnam era Navy veteran. I am looking for someone who has a “C” uniform and a utility belt with a holster. We will supply a non-firing replica weapon with a filled barrel. The work is no more than 8 hours but should be only about 4 hours. Any interested parties can write to and I will provide details. Thank you.

  3. The North Coast Marine Corps League Detachment-1228 is sponsoring a Welcome Home Veterans event at Lum’s Auto Center in Warrenton, Saturday March 26, 2011, between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. This is a non-political event to honor all of our veterans and active duty personal from all military branches. I have some additional information that I can provide.

It would be appreciated if you, and perhaps other members of the USMC community could attend. Other than the opportunity to just thank your fellow patriotic servicemen and women, it will also be a good opportunity for you to meet younger folks that me interested in joining the Marine Corps.

    Your response would be appreciated.

    1. James – This website is not actually maintained by the Marine Corps recruiting command, but there are a lot of community members that stop by so you’re talking to the right crowd. I’d recommend contacting the RS Portland headquarters as well (503) 326-3016 to help get the word out.

    2. Are you the same Jim Rankin who was in A Company, at TBS 1/65? If so, we were classmates.

      Jim Kirschke
