  1. To the CO or Sergeant Major of RS Fort Worth,

Good evening gentlemen. My name is [removed]. I’m a retired Gunnery Sergeant and 8412. I’m writing on behalf of [removed], who contacted me with questions regarding the process of moving from the Marine Corps reserve to active duty. I gave him a quick run down of what my experience has been, and some advice on how to make sure his package is complete. His reply to that post was a little disturbing in that he says that his paperwork was completed last October and is currently sitting on the SNCOIC’s desk. From [removed] point of view, he’s being told that the new SNCOIC wants to “look his paperwork over” before he sends it up. Admittedly, I have no idea what the situation is with this young Marine, but in my experience, 5 months is more than enough time to review a reenlistment package.

Gentlemen, if I may be so bold, I would respectfully request that someone please look into [removed] situation. He says he has been working with [removed] since he initially enlisted there and feels some loyalty to them. I don’t personally know [removed], but I do recognize a fellow Marine who desires to serve his country. It sounds like all this young man wants is to be on active duty and feel he’s a part of the family of our Corps. I would greatly appreciate your attention in this matter.

    Thank you for your time.

    Respectfully submitted,
    [removed]
    Gunnery Sergeant
    USMC (Ret.)

    1. Thanks for your comments, however this site is not maintained by the Marine Corps. Your comment made it obvious that I am missing contact information for the RS Fort Worth headquarters though. I’ll see if I can track down some contact info and will post it if I do.
