Is it Possible? My name is Bruce A Baker a Former Marine Honorable Dischrge in 1981. What can I do to get one of those offical Pain is weekness leaving the body Shirts that the Marine Recruiting Centers give away at shows for doing Pull ups. With exstensive shoulder surgury I cannot do them. I offerd the SSGT at the Cleveland air show a donation, or anything else I could do to earn one of those shirts and I was denied. I understand that they cannot give them away to everyone but I offerd situps, Marine Knowledge, cash donation.. For me its motivational to wear why I am trying to get myself back in shape. I can donate, volunteer in my Akron Cleveland area. I can go on line and buy a cheap imitation but its not the same.Any suggestions?

    Dear Sir, Ma’am,
My father passed away 10-26-11. He was a former marine. He was only 46.Just shy of turning 47 on November 10th. He loved Being a marine and said it was fate becuase he shared the same birthday as the usmc. He loved his country and told stories of his marine days every single day to me. He was my hero. I am reaching out trying to find help and begging PLEASE give him the funeral he deserves. He is being cremated and the va wont help because of that. There are very deep personal reasons for that. Part of which being that my 1 year old daughter (his granddaughter) passed away march 30th-11 while he was with her. He said that was the worst thing he had ever seen desptie the horrors he saw overseas and in the onset of the gulf war. For his birthday this year my sisters and I were meeting him in va beach and norfolk to visit for his passion of the marines and pure love for his family. I am hurt and very upset he is being layed to rest with out a gun salute and proper marine funeral just becase he is being cremated. He loved the country the usmc and he was my hero, best friend, loving man and father of 4. He was loved and admired by many. Please help me give my father the Honor and recognition he deserves. PLEASE!

I’m sorry about your losses. This site is not maintained by the USMC, so I can not directly do anything to help. I do know that because the VA is a government department, you can try contacting a local representative to see if there is anything they can do. Perhaps some of our readers may also have some suggestions.

    Sir/Ma’am,
Respectfully request contact information for the Marine Recruiting Station in Warren Ohio. I have attempted several of the generic web searches with no luck. And in your list of RSS, there is nothing for Warren Ohio.
A DSN number, and/or an e-mail address would be perfect.
To my knowledge, the Warren site should still fall under the Cleveland Command, as it did back in the 1980′s. If not, please let me know.
Thank you for your time and trouble.
    S/F, S/G, and V/r,
