  1. In 2011 I went thru meps, took my asvab with a 71 out of three sections wasn’t sure what the rest was. I had a tattoo removed off my upper back but still had to get a tattoo wavier. I also had to get a dependence wavier as well. I had to return to my recruiter several times after that for more photos in pt gear and copy and copy of dependence letter always the last minute. That was all done by june of 2011. Around december 28 I had to call to my recruiter to find out why I haven’t heard from anyone. I got a response that had me shocked, oh we called a while ago and left a message saying no. For exactly what I was never told. Several of my marine buddies were pissed and I guess I still havent gotten over the fact that I didn’t get a chance. I’m very passionate about the marines and it still hangs over me. I wanted to make a long term goal to serve my country, and to be in the best branch. I have a wife and two kids now, just didn’t know if there was still a chance to do so in the Corps. I’m getting tired of being ran around but I would do it if it got me to those yellow footprints. Still believe in the usmc.
Thank you , and if there is anything that would help or I’m just to late in the game. Being only 26 I’m still very active.

    1. I dont know how the situation is with your Wife and Kids, but if you still want to fight, try pondering and researching The French Foreign Legion.

  2. I am seeking support for a Marine that is in UIC Hospital (Elwyte Dennis Gardner) who served in Vietnam and suffered a debilitating stroke a couple of weeks ago. This Marine was my manager in the 90s and we have remained friends.
He is the most honorable person I know and also one of the most proud. He is paralyzed on his left side and I am afraid that he is losing the will to fight—something that is not part of the Marine creed. Marines are never afraid either but fear has set in with Dennis.
Please, if anyone knows of any Marines that can stop by and visit him, I am highly confident it will pick up his spirits…seeing a Marine in dress blues might also help. He has given of himself by serving his country and as a civilian and he needs a little help.

    Thank you.

  3. Will be in Chicago during the week of 5 – 10 November. Does anyone know of any birthday ball/event on the 9th? Want to spend time with other Marines. GySgt Tom

  4. Hi how are you? Is there anyone who can help me to search a recruiter pla around or miles not to far from chicago and ashlan marine corp recruiting please can somenone help me to finsd that place

    1. Sure, there are a few stations inside the northside of Chicago. The easiest to find is on Addison and Western. It is next to the Mcdonalds across from Lane Tech HS. It is next door to the city office, but beware, only park in front, towing is vicious.
