I would like to express my disappointment in the unprofessionalism of the recruiters in the Columbus Ga office (RSS Columbus). I sent my son off into the marines on Sunday November 4th 2012 and it was the first contact I have had with his recruiters. The recruiters we dressed like punks, chewing and spitting tabacco, they did not represent the Marine Corp. in any respectful, professional manner! I was highly upset and very disappointed.

My son has been going through hell at the Douglasville USMC recruiting office. It’s been a joke since day one. I know other young men that have gone into other branches from office’s adjacent to the USMC office, paperwork gets done, go to MEPS once for IST, MEPS a second time for departure. My son has been to MEPS at least eight times, four times in one week. Absolutely ridiculous and why he still wants that branch at this point I’ll never know. I want to be encouraging to him but its getting really hard to be after all that crap he’s endured. It amazes me to hear all the positive things you do about the Marines and then have these clowns representing them to the civilian world, difference is night and day. Very frustrating.

      • Tim says:

After posting the above comment our situation has since been resolved. After being in touch the appropriate people with the Corps came an expedient resolve. Thank you! It certainly changes my previous view and comments for the time being but I hope maintains for future recruits and parents of those recruits. I have been a fan of our Marines and will continue to be and I suppose that is my reason for such frustration but again thanks for making things right.

I’m trying to reach the USMC recruiting office in Rome, GA. I have started my enlistment. But after numerous attempts, I can not get a hold of recruiter Floyd. The number provided online is invalid and says it has been disconnected. Any information would be a great help!

  4. Doug Carlyle says:

Wow, just wanted to say hi to all the Marines in Atlanta ga, I was a 8412 back in the 80′s and 90′s, miss my old team, I know a few have passed away in the past couple of years.
